Everyone wants to know what the “best way” to build their business is. It’s human nature to move towards methods that are most efficient and bring the fastest and highest results for the least amount of work and most distributors are on a constant search to find the ‘magic system’.
A very common question we get from people looking to learn the cutting edge online recruiting methods inside our ‘Attraction Marketing Formula’ training, has to do with a concern over not being able to build a team online, as it happened offline and over being scolded by their up line for “choosing a different path”.
We know ‘attraction marketing’ works and once new reps and customers start rolling in for you, your upline will have questions and most likely, be negative about building the business differently than how they did it back in the ’80s or ’90s or even early 2000’s.
And this is a position we empathize with, because our upline once told us, that we risked losing our business by using online methods which were “unproven”…
Now as much as we’d like to definitely say that “attraction marketing is the best way in the world to build a network marketing business,” We can’t. (No, really I mean it!). We can’t.
Because we wouldn’t even be considering the most important component of anyone’s success – YOU!
We all have different strengths, weaknesses and abilities. And all this factors into what will work best for us as individuals.
We’ve been in this industry for more then 6 years and we’ve tried to build this business in many different ways… home/hotel meetings, cold market prospecting, calling up friends & family, prospecting the bartender, driving 3 hrs to get 20 names a day from stalking waitresses and people at the mall, etc.
Now, we are very logic oriented persons, which means we constantly analyze what was really going on as we tried different methods and learned a ton from everything we tried, even when things didn’t work out.
After 4 years in this industry, we pretty much made up our minds that we wanted to build a business in a way that reflected the age we were living in.
I also became a mom, my husband Gabi was ranked up in his corporate job. It made absolutely no sense for us to be operating like in the past, prospecting and cold calling all day. We needed to take advantage of our strengths and use technology as a major leverage point in our business.
This issue pretty much comes down to this…
If you just started your network marketing business today or you are not happy with your results, you’re going to need to figure out which methods work best for YOU.
If prospecting friends and family, holding home meetings, going to hotel meetings or prospecting strangers aint’ your thing, that’s totally cool!
They don’t appeal to us either, but it doesn’t mean that our way works better than someone else’s.
When it comes to being confronted by your upline or upsetting people in your company, I wouldn’t worry about it.
Let them know that you prefer to approach your business using strategies more in line with your interests and strengths.
If they got an issue with it, it’s THEIR problem …
After all, this is a business so make ‘business decisions’ and don’t stay with an unsupportive upline because you have some cultish separation anxiety issue…. but anyway, that’s fodder for another post lol)
Some people in this industry attacked us for doing it a “different” way.
It didn’t matter to us. All that mattered is that…
a) we made money,
b) we really spent our time with our kids and family
c) helping others do the same (duplication)
The cool thing is that we didn’t even invent ‘attraction marketing’. We learned these skills from a MIT graduate that built his first six figure income in network marketing using ‘attraction marketing’ named Ferny Ceballos.
We were like, “If they could do it, we can do it!”
What our online mentors showed us was a way of building that actually turned our networking business into a HOME business (i.e. build while at home) by using the power of the internet.
Here’s essentially what you need to make attraction marketing work, in the same way countless 6-figure and 7-figure earners have learned from this system:
Step 1: Find the best target market
The best target market for us to go after, consists of people who have already said YES to a home business.
In fact, on a daily basis a ton of networkers across the world voluntarily send us their contact information, showing interest in either our business, our mentorship or both.
This is possible because instead of pitching our opportunity to them, we focus our efforts on solving THEIR problems and addressing their needs.
Step 2: Demonstrate value
We never chase people or try to convince people to join our business. Instead, we attract by demonstrating value and leadership through effective marketing.
In fact, in the past 2 months alone, we’ve had over 100 people get a hold of us, wanting to find out what company we are with and how they can work with us. Crazy huh?
To our surprise, many of the folks we spoke to, didn’t really know us too well. They just knew they wanted what we had to offer and were just hoping we would help them build their business.
The trick here is to position what you offer as valuable, in a way that no one else does. And I can tell you for certain it’s a lot easier to ask for an enrollment fee, when they are asking you if they can work with you.
Step 3: Create automated tools that sell for you
We will absolutely not sit on the phone all day, cold calling people and pitch them on our opportunity. In fact, we have set up simple websites and automated email systems that actually do the selling for us.
The only way we’re going to get on the phone with someone who wants to buy something from us or join our business, is if they are sure they want to get started and maybe have a few clarifying questions. Even then, we still insist on interviewing EVERYONE we would be personally be working with.
Believe it or not, there are a lot of crazies out there. lol. 😉
Step 4: Build “You, Inc.”
We don’t focus simply on just building a network marketing or direct sales opportunity, which may or may not be around in 5 years. Our focus for the past year has been on building our BRAND or YOU INC, which consist of a community, email list and reputation we can take with us wherever we go.
Fact of the matter, is that our business income continues to grow at an average rate of 30% every year, and will continue to grow regardless of what company we are with.
That is only possible because of the brand and reputation we cultivated over the past year. Your network marketing business is just the vehicle, but not your TRUE business.
Our email list had become an online distribution channel, which brought stability and growth. It would also allow us to build another business or opportunity with the click of a mouse, should something ever happen to our opportunity.
Step 5: People who say “no” are awesome!
One of the keys to bringing stability to our income was when we accepted the fact that 90% of the people you find anywhere will say “NO” to your products or opportunity.
We found a way to make these people customers in other ways, by providing solutions to their biggest problems and needs, which means we make money either way, even when they say ‘no’ to our opportunity.
Which honestly is the coolest thing ever!
The very best part of learning how to build your business this way, is instead of having that dreaded feeling.. “ugh, I have to go prospect or make cold calls”, your business becomes fun again. You will have loads of people to talk to daily, and that “needing them” to make money “anxiety” goes away.
Your posture grows and your business grows even faster because people will follow those who know where they are going.
These people reach out to you and it is so refreshing!
Step 6: Build an empire
Master networkers know that their goal is not to build just a downline or home business. It’s to build a business than can serve the needs of an entire industry.
When what you’ve created can influence the direction of an industry, not only can you build a downline, not only can you build a financial legacy… you can be a FORCE other leaders want to attach themselves to.
Now, I’m not saying that what I’ve just outlined is “THE BEST” way to build. All we can share with you is what it has done for us…
Not only did we permitted to have the 2nd child…
Not only do we get to build our business from home…
Not only do we wake up and have commission notices everyday…
We haven’t prospected a single stranger or shared our opportunity with a family member in the past year.
By focusing on solving problems and adding value to an industry, we attract literally 10–20 networkers per day to our email list.
We generate between 1 – 2 customers per day…
And about 4-5 per month decide they want to become serious business builders with our help.
